It has flowers Klahanie little white ones ,it hasn't had any fruit yet it's been on that wall for a few years I believe there are two kinds this one I have A. kolomikta and the A. chinensis which is the one I think fruits also it says in my book you need a male and female plant near each other to produce fruit ,unhappily I seem to have the wrong one to fruit :o( the foliage goes a much deeper pink contrasting with the white as time goes on ....

Aha, now that is very interesting! I bought one of these plants recently (remember how much I admired yours before?) but although the label looks like your plant, the plant itself looks different - it has no white or pink just at all. It is still unplanted but it did bear a tiny white flower. I am saving it to grow up an archway when I am all sorted out.

I love this - planted one last autumn but it's been very slow to get going. I suspect the cats were getting to it. I've covered it with some mesh in the hope it improves. I bought a new one last week too - for an alternative position. I'm determined to grow this in my garden!

I will be very pleased when ours looks as good as yours, it had been in over three years now, and still spindly, and earlier on was bitten to pieces....!!

Gee - did the first leaves get frosted? One year, that happened to mine. The replacement leaves were entirely green.
Scottish - Yes, cats love to rub against it. I lost the first one I planted due to this. protected the replacement and it grew away quite happily.

No, Andrew, we haven't had any frosts since I bought it (fingers crossed still) although there has been some chilly winds. I hope it will produce some better colours when I finally get it planted. Perhaps I should put it in a large pot in the meantime?
