Scottish we never seem to do well with Heleniums or Rudbeckias (except for the giant Herbstonne) always die
on us after a couple of years, no idea why?
Amy I know we get a lot of rain in the south, so perhaps they do like the wet perhaps?
Thanks MaryB.....

Thanks - I find the Rudbeckias suffer in the wet here in winter but my Helenium Moerheim Beauty thrives in it!
I read somewhere once, but can't remember where, that Heleniums can often be very slow to get going in spring and the advice was to give them a good soak but found I've never needed to.

This is really lovely Dd..I think 'Herbstonne' & 'Goldrturm' are the only ones we can treat as perennials?..:>)

Motty it is a nice one, I shall be sad to lose it, Herbstonne at the moment is huge, never know it to be so big so early...

It's a cracker! Why would you need to treat it as an annual, can I ask - I hope you don't mind me being nosy :)
