Photo I took a couple of years ago on a hydrangea flower head in the front garden. I must apologise, as I can't tell you what type it is, but I thought it was an attractive photo. I put this on GOY after seeing Marybells dragonfly collection. Marybells doesnt cut the legs, wings and tails off in her photos though.

Thanks Jane for taking the time to look it up. Its a bit of a mouthful to say the least. I'll see if it has a 'common' name maybe.

Thanks Carole, it flew off before I could 'zoom out' and get tail, wings and legs all in.

Marybells, I think is the expert on dragonflies. She has some great photos in her portfolio. I don't know much about them, but happened to have my camera handy when I saw it.

Truly beautiful photo, those are some lovely markings this dragonfly has :-) it would be easy to identify from such a detailed image like this...well done! you can almost see his munching things ;-D
i do hope you get some captures of more dragonflies this year!!! just noticed the top part of the body is like the green in the hydrangea leaves!!
