I love comfortable things, too. Especially, when working in garden :-)

But in Tennessee you will be shot dead for this. Directly in a front garden.

@ Dorjac, thanks, love! but i think that's mostly the camera angle. sigh, time was, when I straightened my leg and pointed my toes, there wasn't an "inch to pinch" anywhere. those were the days ...
I hadn't thought of using this as my avatar, thanks again!!
@ Kat - that's the good thing about not living in "the land of the free"!!! oer here people would only "tut!"

That is why I live in Europe and not in Saudi Arabia :-)
We, who live in regions with cold weathers during most part of the year, must expose body to the sun for at least 30 minutes a day, if possible. It is prevention of osteoporosis, deficient immunity and it also helps to keep muscles in a good form. Gardeners all over the world, unite!

Lol,Fran, that's a great shot, and I agree about using it as your Avatar..:o) you are a braver woman than me,these days..Lol..my shorts were given away years ago..didn't want to have my new neighbours keeling over in shock :o)

When you're gardening in the sun,
why not wear your shorts for fun.
It's your private garden space,
get a suntan on your face...and arms and legs....and have a glass of wine after all your hard work too.......
I haven't got a pair of shorts either Bloomer. LOL.

I have shorts somewhere in some remote drawer, but seldom worn. My ankles are cankly and my thighs too thundery for short shorts. Must remember to donate them when the next bag drops through the door. Nice Avatar Fran for a bit of summer fun and for making vitamen D.

I am curious, what does it mean to have thundery thighs...have to check vocabulary.

@ Kat, can't imagine trying to garden with traditional female clothing in those countries! no idea where the phrase "thunder thghs" came from, but it's a bit mean, only supermodels have slim thighs, and look at the price they pay for it
There's been an item in the news recently about rickets coming back because people are using so much sunblock that they're not getting the needed doses of vitamin D to build strong bone
@ Bloomer - thanks, dear: I even went to the local shops dressed like that - I did umm and err a bit about whether to wear a sarong as a skirt, but I'm trying for the stage of "if people don't like it, they can do the other" and that needs pratice to get good at, lol
@ Linda - I keep my face shielded because of glare in my eyes otherwise, but for the rest, the less I wear, the better - I'm not one who can sit for hours baking myself, I have to be up and doing. I'm trying to get the back garden fencing raised so that I can work on a "seamless suntan" - no strap lines or cloting marks!
@ Dorjac - go for it dear, and damn the torpedos! I spent years worrying about what total strangers I went past in the street would think about me. Now I'm working on "who cares?"
Lol I do care a bit, I don't want to get arrested! but within the law, if they don't like it, I'll probably lie awake all night, crying about it. Not!!

That would make a good Avatar Fran! Your ankles are much slimmer than mine too!
