Long tailed Field Mouse (Wood Mouse) was in my garden at 4pm unusual as they are generally nocturnal

Its had lovely big eyes. I have chased my cat off when playing with one before so I hope it is ok.

Me to, i was picking some wild berries a few days ago
and startled one happy nibbling at a berry four feet from the ground.

they remind me of my childhood, when we saw so much more wildlife than we seem to today

I have them in my garden too and often see them foraging in day light hours such sweet little things as long as they no their place outdoors ;0)

it would seem the wild life such as these wonderful creatures are still about in good numbers then? so reassuring.
i agree keep outside dear little mice :-) so far when the odd wonderer has been found "so far" ive managed to capture live and returned outside into the wide open wilderness.
