I bought two punnets of strawberries and had to use them up; bought the tart case and made a high-rise tart, with layers of banana. used the rest to make strawberry jelly - had to make a whole pint, which was too much, so added more mini moulds - i brushed liquid jelly over the tart to glaze and hopefully help preserve it. think it'll be a while before i can look another strawberry in the face!

I usually do, but i was determined to have a go at strawberry jelly - I'd been "getting round to it" for ages, and when I saw the tart cases in the shop I thought, right, let's do it!

Well, enjoy! I always used to buy a sachet of jelly glaze for a tart....it was yummy!

not heard of jelly glaze, will have to check up on that.
my local only does strawberry jelly as powder, which means making up the whole pack: i worked out how much water to use per cube for cube jellies,
Perhaps I should have weighed the powder and divided 20 floz by the weight, but I don't think my scales would be sensitive enough

Mmm they look good Fran , I freeze any left over strawberries to use in jellies at a later date , the frozen strawberries make it set quicker ....

thanks Bloomer, I'll check that out.
I have stacks of fronzen strawberries, blackberries and grapes, Amy, I just keep forgetting to thaw them out and so buy more ... but maybe I could try making jelly with them frozen, they certainly too their time setting with fresh fruit. but not for a while, I think!

I love strawberries, especially when they are in season. Your photo had my mouth watering and I had to run to the fridge and help myself to a couple (or more!). Never have any left to freeze here - what I don't eat Josie and Jubilee finish :)
