water is the best spirit level ever! this end is a little wonky towards the back, the far end is a lot more wonky, but hope that the weight of water will press down enough - it doesn't weigh as much as I do, or I don't think it does! - but the pressure will be constant

thanks Karen and I'm hoping that the pond will sink a bit. but then, it'll probably sink all over at the same rate! ah well, could make a "shallow end" for the kiddies ....

You could pile some smooth stones in one corner so that any wildlife that goes in will come out again. Are you getting a few plants to put in too Fran? You could plant a few yellow and blue iris around the outside or make a small bog garden along one side at the back of the pond.

I've put a couple of bricks and some stones in the front, both corners; not taken pics yet.
I hadn't intended to plant anything in it, at least not quite yet, but I've very kindly been offered some water plant babies, so I'll be starting fairly soon
I've put some pot plants on the back and side walls, just for now, but they don't look too bad, i'll get a pic of them, too.

It won't be noticeable once you get some plants in it :)
