Bought this rose online, from a reputable company, at a very reasonable price, when it came it was awful, blackspot, broken stems, no label, stake thrown in the box!! and nearly dead, phoned company and emailed the photographs, even they were disgusted!! we offered to send it back, but they did not want it, promptly reimbursed our Paypal account, OH took charge of it, cut it right back, sprayed it, repotted, and fed it......and look at it now!!

Thank you, says the rose.

I had similar experience with Chicago bush rose. It was at the compost bin in one GC, just one stem with one rose, the rest was broken and leafless. I took it for free and now I have 170 cm high bush, which blooms from June till November.

We were tempted to ditch it, our neighbour looked after it, well, he kept it in his shed, because it arrived two days before we opened the garden, so we needed it out of the way!! so it never had any water for at least 4 days, and looked even worse when we eventually fetched it back.....but OH likes a challenge!! that is why he married me lol
