It's something they do continually! We often have to put it up again! Just a couple of days ago they unhooked it again.

what gets me is that they're sitting properly on the swing, not poroperly in regards to gravity!

That's an advantage birds have over us humans, Fran, they can adapt to any position, even head down, without bother! But we should remember they are birds that feed on grass seed heads & as you know, grass seedheads are not very strong & bow under any weight so the birds have adapted to hanging on & feeding upside down if necessary! We see that with some of our own native birds as well.

of course, didn't think of that. but those are transient, these two seem happy to settle long-term
