Delonix, There are so many Royal Poincianas around but we never see them bloom. Even such, it is a beautiful tree by itself.

We do quite often Wildrose. The lake is full of different birds. Fun to watch.

Klahanie:
Yes, Royal Poincianas are beautiful trees even when they are not in bloom. There's two very large trees at the San Diego Zoo which have never bloomed (they were planted in 1992). I think it's because a large night light by the trees which cause photoperiodism.
Photoperiodism used to be a major factor in the large Delonix regia trees not blooming in South Beach, Florida. Then the city changed the light spectrum and now the trees bloom again.

That is very interesting. Thanks for sharing that knowledge.

You're welcome. It's amazing how much man-made things can affect nature.

I would be very nervous to sit under the Queen palms, like these people are doing. When the old fronds come crashing down they can seriously injure (and sometimes even kill) a person.

Lovely place & trees.

Thank you for noticing Feverfew. It is popular spot for local families to stroll every Sunday. But rest of the week it is pretty quiet.

It's lucky this place isn't busy all the time. Queen palms are very widely grown here in San Diego as a street, park and landscape tree. The old fronds are being cut back by the city right now before winter.
