Trying out my new mini-arbour for size. I’d bought a new cover from or via Amazon as the previous one split – rather than do the proper four levels with short risers, I used the longer shelf supports to see if that worked; the height seems right; it’s big enough to get inside if I sit sideways. I’ve got it more or less secured to a nail in the side of the shed, to hold it more or less still, but the base still wants to go walkabout.
But at least that means I can sit out in the rain and keep dry – if I didn’t get soaked getting to it!

thanks, love, I will!
and have! downloaded the pdf and saved the link for if I need to find it again.
failing a dome, I'd love arches rather than wooden or metal ones to lead into both gardne,s and to "curtain" areas.
you are a dear!

Lovely idea! Did you see the arches that Michy made by growing two conifers and tie-ing them together at the top? Worked a treat! And I did similar with Bamboo at the old garden.

that rings a bell, I'll have to go and find them (again?) and have a good look.
Main prob is, until I know what I want, how I want the garden to be laid out, I don't want anything permanent or even semi-permanent. I should extract digit! but the books say to do n othing for a whole year, and I've already done a lot more than that.

hmm! just did a serach for "Michy" and the only reference to come up was your mention of the name in your post just now! I'll try searchng for "confier arches", see what comes up, if anything

It was all on her old account Fran which has been deleted I'm afraid. :( And I've no idea why spellcheck is so averse to 'Micky' its a very popular name!! ;)

ah! I read the "k" as an "h", which would tend to explain it!!!

Why am I surprised at the fact that you are busy planning even more work in your garden Fran? Are you ever still lol?!

Like this idea Fran! Don't put the primus on though with the door rolled down!!.....:))

lol Waddy, I'm usually only still when I get on the PC and get sidetracked, and shut down the PC ten hours later and only then remember that I didn't get round to doing what I went on to do!
lol Janey, I have a mini-barbecue for my fires, which is on the other side of the "patio"; I've seen pics of plastic structures on fire - not that they're on fire long, they melt all over the place.

Oh I recognise myself there Fran, although perhaps not ten hours on the PC, I'm sure I'd have one of migraines if I did.

Have a peep at this page for how to build a willow arbour....http://www.musgrovewillows.co.uk/docs/musgrove_willows_living_willow_leaflet.pdf. I read that they use a particular kings of willow that isn't as invasive as the ones we have on our riverbanks. Will need to look into it further as the ready made kits are a bit pricey at around £120.
