:-) This was only part of it. Their front yard is huge and all planted with various cacti.

I love the style of the gate. I suppose you have to grow what suits the conditions where you are Klahanie.

Very popular design with small variations on the arc.
They cannot grow here some wonderful plants we are growing up north . So you are right Linda we are growing what the conditions allow.

That looks fantastic. Great idea to use that particular Cereus(?) form. It might be a monstrose form. In cacti, they actually propagate with the regular forms in habitat. Not a man made cultivar.
Artistic use of the blue Tequila Agave.

Glad you like it Stan. My DH was standing there for 5 minutes admiring it. He usually does not care for gardens on his own. This is more "mannish" garden.
Tequila agave is very popular landscape plant. It grows very well here. Of course town of Tequila is just few miles north with all its agave fields and distilleries. Popular destination for us foreigners :-)

It looks like it could be here. :>)
Because of the severe drought and hot temps here in San Diego...most likely many of our gardens will look like this one.

Water more then temps will cause that. This summer is going to be rough.
I should just move to Hawaii. Or,keep at the Aloes and Euphorbia's.

Stan:
It's actually both. Some of the plants are burning in the very hot weather we've been having. Although, the extreme drought is the biggest reason.
I'm noticing more landscaping with Euphorbia, Cacti and other xeroscaping plants.

We get one warm day-80f- then the temps go down as we might get some showers later in the week.
Klahanie,is that Lava native? Or brought in ? Or brought in locally?.like from some local Mountain?.

Stan, they call it" tezontle " and not far from here is town called San Lucas Evangelista, on the other side of the Lago de Cajititlán and this town is well known for its volcanic rock. They sell it in garden centers here but I do not know if it all comes from there.

Klahanie one last - I really have to know- Is that a tree trunk to the left with a hanging succulent or a sculpture?
The color is all wrong, but that trunk (if it is one) looks like a Silk Floss tree..I guess if it was once alive it could be anything tree. Just my guessing.

There were several stumps in the space. No sculptures. You have very good eye, Stan I just cannot say from this picture but it certainly could be. My knowledge is limited.

My two cents: the trunk stump looks like it's from an old Ficus. Silk floss tree trunks would look a lot different. :>)
