Looks like my Jeanne D'Arc crocus for sure. Quite large flower heads. Mine have been semi wrecked by the winds, but they certainly make a statement.

some people cut bulbs in half, or even slices, to increase their stock - not sure which bulbs, maybe you could practice on one that's not so thin on the ground before you try it on this one! I'd be worried about messing it up, so I wouldn't try ,but it might work
