It is all over very interesting tree as well. Our neighbour has 3 of them. I found a little seedling(few inches tall) last year and planted it in the pot with some succulents. I was so surprised to see 3 feet stick when we came back in the fall .This is a majestic giant tree at maturity. The trunk has thorns.

I see it flowers there the same time as here.
In San Diego's subtropical climate this tree only grows to about 40' (12m) tall. In the tropics it grows into a monster tree of more than 100' (31m) tall.

What a beautifully coloured flower.

Yes, beautiful flowers on this tree. Some consider it as most beautiful tree... period. But that is a matter of opinion.

Large trees are absolutely beautiful! However, the tree which is considered by many to be "the most beautiful flowering tree in the World" is Delonix regia (Royal Poinciana or Flamboyant). In my opinion, a close second is the magnificent Erythrina falcata (Brazilian Coral Tree or Corticeira-da-Serra). There's some very large, old trees here in San Diego. It's one of the slower growing Coral trees. Most Coral trees grow extremely fast.

Is that the one on your icon Delonix?

Lindak:
Yes, that's the one. :>)

I love the shapes of the Delonix regia trees and it is spectacular when in full bloom as a whole . The leaf structure is pretty as well. But.... the individual flower itself is not as interesting as on some other tropical trees ( in my opinion.)

Klahanie:
Actually, if you read about the flower on Delonix regia...it's very interesting. Did you ever notice the little small white patch with dots on the intense scarlet flowers? It's actually to attract bugs for pollination. It's one of the most photographed flowering tree in the world...and it's not an easy flower to photograph because the flowers are so intensely bright. Many times the flowers bleed red in a photo. Luckily, with the new higher resolution digital cameras they can pick up the scarlet flowers easier.
Have you ever seen an Erythrina falcata bloom? The flowers look like scarlet parrot beaks. E. falcata is another tree which is difficult to photograph.

We have a shrub in the neighbourhood they call El Ciebo .
Would that be Erythina? I will post it.
I think that every red flower is hard to photograph . Especially in sunshine. I can never get the right colour .

Yes, El Ceibo is an Erythrina species (or Coral tree)...not sure which one, though. There's so many species of Coral tree...it's not funny.
Here's one of my photos of Erythrina falcata:
