I love these flowers! Every year I have them growing on the balcony! As it is very windy here as well they do resist the wind better.

I have some in flower on the balcony now as well as their bigger cousins. :-))

As we are forecast VERY strong winds for tomorrow (Tuesday) I expect mine will get quite a battering as the balcony is very exposed to the wind. I'm afraid the bigger ones will get very beaten up & I may lose the flowers for this year before they would naturally die down.

I can no longer pull the big white troughs on the floor of the balcony up against the railing as the flowers have grown through the chicken wire & if I try to move them a little further in I will pull the heads off the flowers - thus defeating the purpose of trying to protect them from the wind!

We had very strong winds last night, few daffs gone over and one multiheaded one broken, so mine arnt to bad. Hope all yours get through this windy weather.

I had to cut the heads off of some of them as they had been badly burnt by the wind. They were looking ugly & there is no way they would recover. :-(( So the wind cut short the Daff flowering season by a week or ten days this year! :-((

Obviously the wind also burnt other flowers like Pansies & Anemones yet the Hyacinths didn't seem to be bothered.
