Quince......Chaenomeles

This has been flowering on and off for months, so many blooms this year, so lots of quince jelly, all being well!!

I have no idea Karen, but we are still using the quince jelly which is delicious, it went in the dinner tonight!

It is a lovely warm colour. It's a lovely plant altogether, including the fruit! :)

This is beautiful Mine are ready to burst into flower I've e had the odd occasionally flower during the winter , I hadn't thought of doing anything with the Quinces they are so hard !

We make jelly, and Membrillo which is delicious but a bit time consuming..

Does the fruit taste ver similar to a 'real' Quince do you think? I have used one in an apple crumble..a Japanese one..and it did taste quite similar I think. Hopefully I shall eventually be able to make both and compare!
