Thanks! It's one of my favorite flowering tree in San Diego.
I had one when I lived in Mission San Jose, Fremont.

Thanks! It's a common tree here. However, it's a very loved flowering tree...just like the Jacaranda trees which are just starting to bloom.

A very nice tree, with some very pretty pink flowers! :-)) Over here the Cherry trees are just coming into flower & gardens & some streets look fabulous for a few weeks. I often go around the streets just to take photos of the trees in flower! :-))

Thanks! :>)
This tree starts to bloom in January (although, I have seen some trees flowering earlier). The trees can flower over 3 or 4 months.
It must look spectacular when the cherry trees flower. We don't have many cherry trees here. They just don't grow here very well. It's much too warm for the trees here to set buds in San Diego. I look forward to seeing your photos.

They do look fabulous & you can see them in the streets & in park & gardens & in so many private gardens you'd wonder how it is possible to have so many cherry trees!
I haven't taken any so far this year but I can upload a few photos from last year. The same trees will look identical this year as well in another week or two so you wouldn't notice any difference if I didn't put the date on the photos!

That's terrific! It must be quite a sight with all those cherry trees flowering at the same time.
I'l' check out your photos.

Sorry I forgot to upload some photos as I was answering other comments. I'll try to remember to upload some tomorrow, but now I have to get off to bed as it's past 11.05pm!

I've been so occupied with other things of late that I haven't gotten around to uploading some of the promised photos! I'll upload a few now - before I forget or other interruptions happen & distract my attention! LOL!

Glad you liked them!
Just as well I took photos last year, as well as in other previous years, as this year one of the streets that has the most mature Cherry trees seems to have had very few flowers this year! Something strange must be happening! They don't appear to be sick, they appear just not to have been covered in as much blossom as they usually are at this time of the year.

Like I said in another comment: it could be because of your mild winter. I'm guessing the cherry trees grown there have very high chilling requirements. The very cherry trees are low chill (needing very little cold) varieties...and they still don't grow and flowers well. Of course, due to our very mild winters.
