Magnolia ‘Elizabeth’ is a cross between Magnolia acuminata, the Cucumber Tree, a native to the eastern regions of the United States and Canada and the Yulan Magnolia (Magnolia denudata), native to China;
Magnolia ‘Elizabeth’ was patented by the Brooklyn Botanic Garden in 1977. She was first hybridized in 1956 and is named after Elizabeth Van Brunt, a patron of the garden

Thank you Bjs and Amy for your comment. It is neat magnolia ....especially at evening as these flowers shine through in dusk as candles. It is leafing now so it might not be so dramatic in a few days

One of my favourite colours and to see it in a magnolia is so special.

It is doing well for me this year Wildrose. It was suppose to bloom together with the purple rhododendron beside it (it usually does) but this year the magnolia is early or the rhodie is late.

Thank you Medowland. There are several yellow magnolias but Elizabeth is the palest one . There is one called Butterflies which is very yellow and not so fragrant.
Another one sold here is called "Yellow bird"
