A blue/green Hosta with undamaged leaves. Last year this was decimated.

Oh, I love hedgehogs. A. for themselves. B. for the good jobs they do. Try not to put slug pellets down for that reason, if I do I put them under a banana skin. What I do do is spray the Hosta with a liquid of juice of boiled garlic bulbs, if I remember. Unfortunately the concrete gravel boards at the bottom of the fences, stop access to these lovely little critters.

Ramps with a hole in the bottom of the wood fence of about a size slightly smaller than a cat flap so the cats can't get through . Over several gardens so they can have access to them all. We all have gateways for them here.

I have holes in one already and it hasn't even opened fully yet grrr, although we have hedgehogs so I too don't like to use pellets, I've got that recipe pinned on my notice board Siris but never tried it , does it work well?

Seems to, if you do it regularly.

Ours will be eaten to bits, now it has rained, critters that can eat huge holes in Gunnera are going to love munching a thin leafed Hosta!

Yesterday made some garlic brew, in the microwave! Applied it but it just ran off 'Sum and Substance' and Blue leaves, but stayed on 'Octopus' That the slugs do like.

Lovely to see the Hostas again. I love them, and so far we haven't got any holes in ours either.....time will tell....although I have noticed we have 3 hedgehogs around.
