Inherited white rhododendron

Pretty but I have not figured what the name is yet.

How beautiful. Wish we could grow them here. I had a beauty in a big pot for a couple of years, called Sunfire - I think!
But something has got at it this year - weevil grubs I expect and it is certainly dying, if not already dead! I took it out of the pot & cleaned it all up and put fresh compost in, but it is not reviving, sadly.
I did find quite a few white grubs in the old compost, so I guess they were the evil little culprits!!

I have them too Shirl, especially when I leave the rhododendron in the pot. They love to chew on them.
It is impossible to get rid of them. They (rhodies) seem to be Ok in the ground.

I think they would be o.k. Klahanie if I could grow them in the ground here, but my soil is far too alkaline for them to be successful.
Guess I will just have to enjoy them in pictures and in other gardens!!

I do the same thing Shirlwhrl....enjoying pictures of other gardens. I cannot grow many plants here because our soil is just too wet in winter and I have not much sun on our property. Rhododendrons do not mind this condition too much and our soil is acidic. I looked the R. "Sun Fire" on the internet and it has gorgeous colouration. It was bred in Netherlands and I do not know if we have it available here. All the sites I looked at were from Europe. Thank you for your visit and comment Shirlwhirl.
