Thanks all ,you're not far out Brian approx 9/10 years the shrubs were all bought as miniatures they are becoming a little large for the circle now ..

Amy I think they look nice at that size ,problem pruning them they never look that natural again.

Your circle looks really refined.

Lovely simple effective design Amy and Tony; the dark conifers contrasting with the light stonework, and the strong verticals against the horizontal circle; perfect!
The penstemons you gave me are growing well, with some in flower, and the lovely Sorbaria foliage is stunning, with some flower-spikes developing.
