Thanks Meadow. Yes, sigh, like painting the forth bridge. I find once beds get fuller, they are so much easier to care for.

I definitely agree there Dawn! Mine are incredibly fuller already after only one year. I was comparing yesterday and the difference is amazing! Must do a blog to show!

Karen, exciting isnt it when gaps slowly begin to vanish. Yes, do a blog. My spot that was previously the veg patch is a couple of years behind the rest of this area but coming on, this is the part to the left of this picture. Life's too short to be weeding all the time. I hoe everyday, I know the garden so well I dont often damage anything, keeps on top of things and gentle on the old back.

Every day? wow, that's dedication. I probably do pull out a few weeds every day, but I find certain areas can quickly get out of control and then I have to go in there with a hoe and/or fork and sort it out. I know exactly where I'll be doing that tomorrow when this rain stops. :) We are having a very dull 'indoor' day today. I even cleaned the hob and extractor hood, all the bottoms of my saucepans are sparkling, and even the saucepan cupboard has been cleaned! lol! I keep going in to the kitchen to admire the shinyness of everything.....so sad. :(

Hi Karen, I have today off work and what a waste. Raining all day here too, I feel lost not being outside. I've been cleaning too (yawn). The hoeing only takes me about 15 mins if I do it everyday, I like it because I can have a good look around at the same time to see what's going on, it works, no weeds get going unless hiding. Having said all that, I've not hoe'd today because of the rain. Sounds like you need to put your sunglasses on before entering the kitchen, lol. Nice when its all done, isnt it.

Hi Meadow. Hopefully my gaps will reduce along with the hoeing soon. Yes, will soon be autumn, Ive already ordered my Narcissi cyclamen for the woodland.

I'm not buying bulbs this year. I'm drying off this years tulips to re-use. I've plenty of daffodils and crocus too. I shall only buy any if I see something really special. :)

Can we quote you on that Karen? :-)

Lol...don't be daft Andrew!! ;)

OK Karen, it will be hard to resist. That's my theory too, no bulbs except for the Narcissi that arrived today for the woodland.
