Gentiana sino-ornata

Lovely. Saw a mass of these in the Dolomites a couple of years ago . . . nothing quite like 'Gentian' blue!

Oh what a treat to see!

I bought some of these last w/end & within a few days the blooms had all started to go brown. So disappointed!
Anyone know why this would happen?

No Idea Gf what a shame ! had the blooms been flowering for some time before you bought them do you think ,were they on show under cover in the nursery ? I bought mine a year ago its well acclimatized to all kinds of weather .. I hope !

Do you grow in a pot ?

Amy, I bought 3 blue & 3 pink from a nursery at the car boot. Maybe they needed to adjust or were grown under cover, I don't know. Hopefully next year will tell.

Yes Gg its in a pot it was new last year I was keen to keep an eye on it plants can easily get lost in this garden if they are small , Gf perhaps they will come back next year when the roots are stronger this one has taken a full year to bloom since I bought it , fingers crossed we will see a beautiful photo from you next year !
