What a wonderful idea, I wish I thought of something like that when the girls were born. Happy Birthday Ryan. Super colouring right now.

Waddy We started doing this for the grandchildren when we were living in our last house the problem then was that when we moved we had to dig up the first Grandchilds tree to move with us luckily it survived ! Karen I think it smells like oranges ,you know when you peel an orange and you get that full zesty smell , nice :o)

What was your first tree Amy - for Marianne I presume?
29 Oct, 2015
You are clever dawn ,yes it was Marianne , it was a Crataegus 'Pauls Scarlet ' it always delights me each May as it blooms its head off just in time for her birthday at the end of May ,I have a Clematis growing up it as well ...

Its a great idea. I had a Pauls Scarlet but it never did anything and it died in the end, weird because ye olde common hawthorn thrives around here. I must get another one and yes, those blooms at the end of May are like nothing else. Clematis idea is good too. Do you have trees for the other two boys?

A wonderful idea Amy, and such a magnificent tree as well...

Thanks Angela ,Yes Dawn we have a weeping Cherry which was for Leon they use to hide under its canopy when they were playing hide and seek still do sometimes , for Samuel we bought the Cornus Kousa chinensis , theres a lot of memories as I know there are in your garden ....

It would be sad to move then Amy with all those trees planted in memory, you would have to start another project!!

Hope Ryan had a happy birthday. I bet he's as handsome as the tree :)

What a lovely idea to have planted it on such a special day. The colours at the moment are so beautiful that I wish I could save them!
