Welcome from me too Anne, I'm wondering if it's a type of cotoneaster?

Thats a tropical Euphorbia. Breynia nivosa. Grows ok in California's mildest climates. I think it makes a good houseplant.
I like them!

Are you from Queensland? Looks warm and lush in that yard.

Thankyou to everyone for welcoming me to Grows On You and thankyou to stan510 for identifying this shrub for me. We live on the Central Coast of NSW Australia and love our garden, however this shrub is not in our garden - we saw it out on a walk and thought it stunning. They had it growing as a hedge the entire length of their driveway. I will add a photo I took in our garden one week before Xmas of 2 lorikeets gathering nectar from one of our flowering eucalypts

They look very happy there. This plant grows very well here in San Diego, CA. I see several in my neighborhood...haven't posted many pics on GoY, though.
Beynia nivosa (Hawaiian Snow bush) does grow very well as a hedge or shrub.

Welcome to GoY Anne. This is a very pretty shrub. I have no idea of the name, but I hope we will see some more of your garden, it's that time of year in the UK when us gardeners start to get withdrawl!
