Deer enjoying the view.
She did not do any damage but was very aware of us. Just walked slowly along the edge and then disappeared in the forest.
I believe that deer can be trained but if anybody know how to train rabbit....let me know. There is lots of grass and clover around but no, they want to chew every single plant I plant. So many of them this year.

She is beautiful. Bearded Iris, I understand are deer proof, not that I have put to the test, too built up here.

How on earth do you stay sane with all that wildlife eating your patch? So beautiful though :)

Siris, thanks. You are right, iris is pretty deer proof, including the blue Siberian. (not the short white though) Peonies are pretty safe too. There are several plants that deer will not eat but rabbits like everything. I have seen an owl by our deck yesterday . Little owls have to eat too . Hope they like rabbits.
Karen, when we moved here from the "cold" Canada, I had hopes and dreams what I will grow, how many different plants as the climate is mild. Had no idea about the wildlife. So now I am enjoying pictures of gardens on this website, including yours. I still grow, not everything is lost, just not on the scale I anticipated. The place is still lovely and the area beautiful. Just in a different way.
I know I sound like I am whining all the time but I more or less just commenting on the situation. What will be will be. I accepted that some time ago. And I agree , she is beautiful.
Appreciate your comments.
