Dd, the flowers are a paler pink than your Venusta?
Dawn, I have 4 Fillipendula. This, the wild type, which is flowering profusely at present, a double white flowered (quite short with nobbly roots), a yellow leaved one with white flowers, oh, and a 5th, just bought this year with dark veined leaves.

Very beautiful. I love the foliage as well. It's a lovely waterside plant.

Karen, you should see the foliage on F. palmatum "Red Unbrellas". Apparently the flowers are pink, next year maybe.

Well I've never seen a meadowsweet as superb as yours, puts my wild ones to shame . I have a pink one on the pond edge but the flower heads are small, going to Google.
