Lovely yard and I love your birdbath too. Cleome could be a good substitute for my phlox. Will have to buy one and see if the pesky deer eats it :-)

The slugs love them sadly ate one to the ground in one night but have left this one alone

Start Cleome early as you can and you will have strong beautiful ones forever. My seedlings outgrew, outshine any of the nursery plants. Cleome reseeds like crazy. I like the mix and the white ones.
