Our pet Mr. Kaja

Our pet Mr. Kaja

Cockatiel. We bought him in 1996. We wanted a female but later found out that she is he.

I wanted to give this two likes! Isn't he really something?
Have you seen the videos of the cockatiel Snowball dancing?

LOL. Ours is a whistler and I am amazed how he can learn to whistle a song. Perfectly. They are such characters. Very smart too. I think Mr. Kaja learned how to read clock. Exactly at 8PM (right on the dot) he start to do his "good night" peeping and demands we cover him.
He does not talk but knows his name. He is a good pet. We love him.

They do like an attention. We put a big mirror behind the cage and he talks to his friend in the mirror all the time . LOL. I do not find ours a trouble. He is well behaved....relatively speaking. We clipped his wings so he cannot fly around. He loves to roam around the outside if his large cage but stays there even when we go out in the garden....we leave the cage open.

He's beautiful , does he go away with you on holiday Klahanie ...

He goes to the babysitter Amy. We usually go across the border and they do not allow birds. We could take dogs and cats but not birds. Seems like he does not mind the switch but he does recognize us when we pick him up and comes to us right away.

I had one quite a lot of years ago but it had a yellow face and crest, then a red/orange dot on the side of it's face. (The best talker I had was an African grey parrot. They are amazing.)

Thorneyside,I know about African grey but it is little bigger bird than we wanted and yes they are amazing talkers. Most cockatiels are yellow faced with orange dot. White-faced cockatiels are less common.
