HB we used to get the children years ago, but they gave up, so many older people live in the road and wont answer their doors after dark!!
They certainly wouldnt bother you then Amy!!

Love your photo,Angela..:o) we only had two families call in the early evening..so lots of sweets left ! Like H.bird,we missed seeing them all dressed up..I also think, there are a lot of Halloween parties now, which is safer than letting older children come out in the dark alone,in this sad world we live in now..Our two Grandsons came to see us in the afternoon, and their little faces lit up with laughter, when we pretended to be scared :o) It's mischief night I hate..Halloween is only fun,and not malicious :o(

Sandra, the children do love the dressing up.....mind you so do the young adults! our eldest granddaughter has to dress up for work, might pop a photo on, things have certainly moved on a tad!

Oh that would be nice to see,Angela..please do ..I agree, not just the children who love dressing up..A lot of Adults have, and raised money for charities too, which can't be bad , having fun while doing so...

We had two youngsters visiting with their mum. Last year I bought some special spooky sweets but nobody came. I Love the bats DD. We get live ones flying round here.

Angela, only just seen this ...... FABULOUS well done. I guess we are in the same category as Amy ... Dark quiet area with only a few street lights. We tend not to get 'trick or treaters'. Mind you, one time we did, I got soaked with a high pressure water gun and wasn't over impressed .... Needless to say they didn't get a treat ...... lol.

Lindak I like a laugh, keeps you young, shame nobody came for your spooky sweets!
Alan I too would not be impressed having been soaked with a water gun, we had though of donning a couple of really scary masks, but then if the children were very young it would probably scare the living daylights out of them!! and then the parents would sue us !! lol

I read somewhere that if you put a pumpkin by your door / gate then they know you don't mind them calling.
We're also in an area with few people & no lights tho so don't get them coming round.
