I'm sure your friend is fine. We've had barely 2 inches, but it melted by the afternoon. More snow today, 4-8 inches predicted depending on location. Good day to stay inside.

In the last pic the snow looked much deeper. I though almost above the fence.

Thanks Tracey, this tree loves the snow & has thick strong branches to support it. It's commonly seen in Northern Canada & Alaska.
Siris: Oh that picture with the rhododendron? It's not a fence, it's just an edging for the front border. It's snowing now as I type this so who knows what I'll end up with. This is a huge nasty storm. It extends south to the Carolinas. They aren't accustomed to seeing snow at all.

Maybe one day I shall see snow on my conifers here....but its looking unlikely for this year at the moment. Its been very mild all week and the weeds are growing fast!

Wow, when I look out my window, all I see is moonscape. :(

I like that fence. It would hold up my climbing Hydrangeas and is exactly what I thought would work. They are so good for screening but too heavy and strong, even with diligent pruning. Did you put it up?

Yes, I put it up myself. It's ideal for honeysuckle.

Hope that storm came to nothing.

Thanks Siris, but we got about 4 inches, The worst part is the freezing cold temperatures that goes on and on for days. The snow isn't melting. Time to stock up on hot cocoa.

A beautifully shaped spruce! How much snow have you had? Our neighbour has been in New York for New Year, before she heads off to Florida... Hope it's not too snowy for you or for her!! ;o)
