Japanese forest grass in my frozen land

We're forecast for some cold weather this week too Klahanie but that looks very cold!

The flow of our weather is from the south-west this year... hence we have lots of snow! Not complaining in the least. Surely this frost won't last long? How hardy is the hakonechloa? It resembles an, as yet, un-named grass that's growing and thriving in the north west corner of the yard. I haven't had time to look it up yet. It looks like a miniature bamboo forest. great stuff.
