Same here Amy...and snow forecast for later this week...Oh bother!
I planted some of these last year, no sign of them so far this year...maybe they've heard the weather forecast lol!

Very nice Amy, a pleasant reminder spring is on the way.

Lucky you. We are expecting very cold weather here too. Any plants thinking about appearing should forget about it.

Isn't that a heartwarming sight Amy! must check ours.......I am not looking forward to another cold snap..

Rather early, but cheery.

It is Sue.....ours are always much later.....will have to look at last year's pics......if my PC allows me?

I must go and look for the ones you gave me,Amy..if I can remember where I planted them !! A splash of yellow might be the best.indication :o) x

Your aconites are ambitious Amy but must be a welcoming sight. On the other hand, my garden looks like a scene from the movie "Frozen." A penguin might be happy though.

Thanks all I love to see these appearing , I hope you find yours Sandra they will multiply in time , Its becoming colder this week Paul our woodshed is filled to over flowing ...
10 Jan, 2017
I don't think I'll look for them today,Amy.or I might get blown over into Lancashire ! at least we were warned how windy it was going to be..no signs of any damage out there..Hope it's ok where you are..x
11 Jan, 2017
The wind is becoming rougher Sandra but not too bad at the moment ,If you get blown over to Lancashire call in on our son for a cuppa LOL ...

Now wouldn't he be surprised if I landed on his doorstep,Amy ? lol..It has been very rough here, but sunny.Quite a few trees down too..Believe it or not,I hung some washing out,as I have some trusty clothes pegs, which never let me down..Russell set my feet in concrete though,to keep me upright ! ha ha xx
11 Jan, 2017
I guess you have some good old wooden pegs like mine Sandra much better than the modern plastic ones ... I could see how rough its been from the TV news stories ,we can expect snow soon , if Russell doesn't rescue you soon you will freeze .. Brrrrr ... xx

I've not even been round the garden - it's either too wet or too cold. Today the wind was scary & I watched the huge ash tree waving wildly. Tomorrow sounds even worse!

Spring! What a wonderful, miraculous thought! I spent the first part of this morning up the hill bringing down wood that I left piled for next spring. It's been very cold and the snow is deep even though we've had two days of rain interspersed! temps up and down like a yo-yo, but it's been mostly cold and today it's minus 10. There's a crust on the snow from the rain..making snowshoeing treacherous. No bluebells visible, I'm afraid. Love your aconites. a bit of cold and snow should strengthen them.

It is freezing Mari the wind is worse this evening , 5000 people are being evacuated from their homes in Yarmouth and other places along the coast due to a high tide surge this evening , do you remember 1953 when all those people drowned Our daughter & family are only a few mins from the sea ... we had snow this morning Lori its rapidly disappearing we will have - frosts tonight ,you remind me of Alya preparing for winter in her cave :o)) fingers crossed for your Bluebells in the spring , keep warm x

In 1953 I lived with my grandmother in London & sang 'How much is that Doggy in the Window' at the street party we had for the coronation, so no, I didn't hear or know anything about those poor souls.
We had snow this am too but it hasn't stayed. There's a lot of stars in the sky tonight, bitterly cold so we're sure to have another frost. Aconites are wise to stay closed yet awhile.

I don't remember it personally Mari I was living with an Aunt in Middlesex at that time but read & heard all about it when I moved to Norfolk at a later date ... I remember the Coronation we were each given a 5 shilling coin which I still have ...

How strange it all seems at times. Time is flashing past, (even faster now) and 1953 may seem like not-so-long-ago to some of us. Imagine how it must seem for the Esteemed Lady having started her big job in 1953 and in 2017 she's still on duty!? God Save the Queen! :-)
I can't imagine living in a cave with only a few flint tools between life and death. I was so hooked on that story for many years... When you get to the last volume we must talk! LOL... ;-) Have you got to the part where she finds Saponin?
15 Jan, 2017
Nor me Lori , I would happily gather the herbs & flowers but would die of cold in the winter months ...
No I haven't met Saponin yet I'm reading the second volume ,The Valley of the Horses , Ayla is thrilled to bits after her first experimental ride on Whinney , did I tell you my daughter bought me the whole set of 6 books for a Christmas present ? ....
You will find this funny I was so fond of telling Tony about certain parts I had read that in the end he said " I might as well read it for myself " he is enjoying the first book and can't put it down , I annoy him by asking him if he wants to know what happens next ... No !! he screams back LOL ....
15 Jan, 2017
:-) :-) oh my, oh my! Interesting times ahead then! I won't say another word. I bought my copies pretty much as they were published. It was hard to wait for the next volume. There was a long gap between the last two.. JA had some copyright problems with the use of the phrase "Earth's Children". how unpleasant for her after crafting the whole series and with the crucial volume in research stage to have to stop and fight a battle over two words! Enjoy! (will you finish before spring, do you think?) x
18 Jan, 2017
Funny you should say that Lori My daughter said " why do you want to read Children books " .. Lol ..actually I think Earth's Children is very fitting ...
I'm reading a little and often Lori my eyes tire I have to share them with another activity my Long Stitching which I find very relaxing I alternate between the two , I finished one picture sampler L.S. Lowry The Organ Grinder which I'm very fond of and have started another one Beach huts ....
I'll PM you as soon I can ,we're off to our daughters tomorrow . enjoy your weekend x

Just to let you know,Amy..I found one of your gifted Aconites in flower yesterday morning ..whoo hoo ! and there is foliage to be seen on others, but no flowers as yet..I had planted them in my long border at the front of the house,so at least I know where I planted them now Lol x
22 Jan, 2017
Thats good news Sandra I'm pleased for you ,they will spread you will end up with a nice little yellow carpet of them , its very cold & icy here ,I'm making a Lancashire Hot- Pot ..do you have a Yorkshire one to compete with them ? Lol x
23 Jan, 2017
Ha ha,Amy..I've never made a Lancashire hotpot..Betty's, in the Rovers Return put me off ! lol..only kidding ! I make beef stews for our lot when they come,as requested by them, always served with Yorkshire puddings,of course..:o)
I keep going to look at that little Aconite,as it's so pretty..I do hope they spread, that will be lovely ..xx
