what we in the USA call a robin is a lot different then the picture you have?

It was homesick emigrants from GB looking for something familiar from home that used the name for the American bird Vjd. Our robins have a wonderful winter song in addition to their friendly cheeky character. Do yours sing? It is Britain's most popular bird and figures on a lot of christmas cards.

our robin is much larger, has a red breast and is not much of a singer, has blue eggs, they have not come back yet, but pretty soon i think.

I think you'll find Bathgate has posted a picture of one of your Robins , vjd.

My robins have nested in the top of one of my tree ferns , in the Autumn I bend the fronds over to protect the crowns , when I was tidying up the garden two weeks ago found the nest and have left well alone including the old brown fronds covering the crown, they are sitting on eggs now and the box has been occupied as well, plus a blackbird nest in the ivy ....

Love love love robins...... they are so beautiful! I never knew they were aggressive though.....!
I have 2 that I feed in my garden regularly...... I swear they are calling me to come out and feed them as they sit on my fence..... or maybe it's just me wishful thinking! He he ?

saw my first Robin here in NY today, usually they are here before now but with the weather we have had i guess they had decided to wait a while. so glad they are here, maybe they will bring some good weather with them???
