The heights are perfect for me to work on and I have done all my summer containers in this very spot! The blackbird and robin have been singing to me to keep me entertained!

The perfect place......

Sadly our bees did not get through the winter of 2015/2016. My husband has decided not to start up again just at the moment because of visits from our young grand children. It is a shame in many ways, the honey was very popular in the village! It had a lovely flowery flavour.

I do like to see a bit of inspired recycling! :)

Oh, that's a shame :( Never mind, perhaps in the future, when little ones have grown a bit, you could start again. We need all the bees we can get :)

Nice that you kept bees Wildrose, but sorry you lost your colonies. We kept them for about 28 years. We fed ours in the Autumn with sugar syrup poured into a special feeder, then if it was a long winter, we remember placing in the hive sugar candy. Think we got that from the beekeepers Association, and if the hive felt light is another indication that the bees are short of food. This was quite a number of years ago now.
