A real British wood, can't beat it.

So beautiful! The last time I was inspired to paint was when someone posted a photo of a bluebell wood. This is having the same effect. The light and the colours are so lovely...the epitome of Springtime in the UK. :)

I can see why you like it so much Amy. Bluebells are my OH's favourite flower...This is one of the reasons why.

There is no finer sight than this plus the scent!

Gosh, that takes me back. I haven't seen a bluebell wood since I was a child, we used to go wooding in one when I lived in Sussex.

Greenfinger, I live in West Sussex and recently walked through Bluebell woods near Angmering, also near Steyning. Where did you used to see Bluebells?

Shirley, we lived in Horam & my big sister & I used to walk to the woods to collect dead wood for kindling & here I discovered that bluebells don't last long if you pick them.
I went to Murray's school, a small private school run by Mr Walter Murray & his wife, Winnifred. The Merrydown cider factory was just down the road aways.

We lived in Hailsham about 30 years ago, in the lovely named Harebeating Drive and I remember driving past the cider factory. A lovely part of Sussex.

Shirley, this has had me going on a walk down memory lane. Thru the internet I've discovered pre opening Murray's school my old headmaster was quite well known in Horam, he lived for a year in Copsford, a derelict cottage in the woods where he convened with nature, wrote a couple of books & collected herbs. Who'd have thought!
Hailsham is almost next door to Horam, did you ever go on the Cuckoo Walk?
The Merrydown factory closed in 2004 & is now a select development of private homes. It's still a very attractive & green part of the country.

I don't recall the Cuckoo Walk, mind you our two children were very young when we lived at Hailsham so I guess we were doing other things to keep them entertained then!

The closest we have been to there recently was a visit to Alfriston, lovely olde worlde village.

I didn't know there was a Bluebell watch Waddy I'll look it up ,we are lucky in this area we do have a lot growing everywhere ...

Gf, I wish I had known about the Cuckoo Trail when we lived at Hailsham. Imagine, 14 miles of unspoilt countryside ... blissful! Thank you for showing the link .....

Shirley, there are some lovely places to explore. The trail follows the now defunct ‘Cuckoo Line’ railway track and stretches from Heathfield to Eastbourne Park. It passes through Horam, Hailsham and Polegate.

Amy, the beautiful picture you posted brought back memories from way back, so thank you very much. I was worried that I'd rather hi-jacked your blog.
