My Thai Plumeria tree is flowering now. It didn't flower last year due to the extreme historic 6 year long drought. Photo taken July 9, 2017.

Thank you! :>))
It's been loving the hot and humid weather we've been getting for a month or so. It'll be hot most likely through November.

I can guarantee it won't be hot here in November, lol

Plumeria trees can flower through December. It can be quite warm to hot even in December; however, the nights cool down, though. November is statistically the sunniest month here in San Diego, CA. We can still get temps up to 100ºF (38ºC) in November.

Absolutely stunning like a rainbow.

Thanks :>)) It's not quite like the rainbow plumeria...however, it's almost there.
There's several rainbow varieties of Plumeria. They are very popular.

To me it s near enough beauty is in the eye of the beholder ?

Yes, this one has a gorgeous flower. It also has a very nice fragrance.
I received this plant as a cutting from a former neighbor. I don't know the neighbor; however, he offered to me a cutting when I commented on the plant. The original tree was small, only 5 ft (it was a cutting from Thailand). Now, it's probably close to 18' tall. Of course, this was back in 2002. :>))
13 Jul, 2017
That was very kind if your neighbour. I think I would prefer 5' where you can see the flowers than 18'

Yes, the smaller dwarf plumeria varieties are very popular here. It is easier to see and smell the flowers on a smaller tree. The larger trees produce a lot more flower, though.
14 Jul, 2017
I can understand then why you prefer them taller in that case.☺
14 Jul, 2017
Small trees if they have lots of branches will produce very well, also. Plumeria trees will only produce a flower spike at the tip of branches.
14 Jul, 2017
So it is better to have them large in height not like a bush where it flowers all around just on top then.
14 Jul, 2017
It can be used as a dense shrub.

Thats good to know thanks for that Andy. A geologist said on you tube in America said there is no global warming going on data records dating right back to 5000 years showing the proof to like a court not surf if it was the Senate the data graphs shows we have cycles of 30 years of cold and 30 years of warm weather he claims its Nasa that has fidfled the data so if we are in 30 years of warmth perhaps I could try and grow one

Fantastic colours Andy

Penny:
Have you ever seen The Inconvenient Truth? It gives some very strong evidence about global warming.

Milky,
Thanks! :>)) All the plumeria trees here in San Diego are in full bloom.
16 Jul, 2017
Bet it smells gorgeous Andy

Milky,
Yes, it has a nice sweet fragrance.
I have a 4 plumerias that are blooming this year that didn't flower last year due to the extreme 6 year drought.

I can't imagine how you would cope with drought for such a long time, surely even grey water wouldn't be enough.

Green finger:
Yes, grey water is definitely not enough. Most plants suffered so severely in this last historic, extreme drought. It's because the whole state of California was affected. The reservoirs were almost all empty. It was very scary there for a while. So glad the Sierra Mountains had record snowfall this past winter! :>))
18 Jul, 2017
What an awful situation, scary indeed!
18 Jul, 2017
Yes, definitely. Luckily, this year we have enough water. It can change here very quickly, though. This is why we have to conserve water all the time here in San Diego.
20 Jul, 2017
I have heard of huge underground tanks with filtration that store all domestic rainfall.
20 Jul, 2017
We have than and ground water...most of our water comes from the Colorado River, though.
21 Jul, 2017
How difficult gardening must be in such an arid area, it would grieve me greatly to have to see plants die from drought. I should be happy for our inclement weather.
21 Jul, 2017
It can be a challenge sometimes. The beautiful subtropical climate here is perfect for subtropical, tropical plants...it's just getting them enough water is the major issue.
24 Jul, 2017
well I'm sure you are doing everything you can, the plants you show us are so lovely.
25 Jul, 2017
Thank you. I try to keep them looking good.

Just this minute seen the photo of this lovely, gorgeous Plumeria!! It's just fantastic! If I could grow one here in the UK I most definitely would! ☺️

Balcony:
It can be grown as a potted plant. It won't grow very fast in a small pot. It just needs warmth and sun for it to flower.
The parent tree to my plant is huge. I see it on my way to work. It was a gift for a former neighbor (who I really didn't know well). The mother tree must be more than 20' (6.1 m) tall now. The mother tree was only 5' (1.5 m) tall when I was given the cutting in 2002 which is now my plant. My plant is only 5' (1.5 m) tall in a pot.
