Aw Lori...so worth the effort. Beautiful colour and looking so healthy. Love them! Mine arent flowering yet, and they look pretty pathetic too.

It would have been a better picture with the tall grass under control... alas, Need a couple of goats! lol... but then I'd have no flowers, either! Better get out the weedwhipper.

posting a pic for you Karen. It will probably be anathema to many gardeners...but Creeping Jenny or Ajuga is my magic bullet against soil borne rust. I had a hollyhock last season that grew very tall and had leaves all the way up the stock and compared to other Hh in my other gardens without the underplanting they were perfect..not a sign of rust.

ohhh, I've not seen hollyhocks since I was a kid; think we used to collect the seed's for an aunt's budgie? lovely to see them again, lol even if by proxy!
