Garden plan for new house

Not sure if this will mean very much to you, and I'm sorry it is rather faint. A curved lawn, more or less central; then basically the circles represent trees (hopefully Prunus autumnalis, Amelanchier, and four other smallish ones). The heavily outlined areas represent planting, the wide curve is a brick path wide enough for two side by side, and starts from the double French windows at the back of the lounge (bottom right). The horizontal lines, also bottom right, represent our 'pergola' seating area where there will be a table and benches, and beyond that a small greenhouse.

I do like the look of your new garden to be, my type of garden...when are they starting? exciting isn't it!

Thanks Angela, yes it is exciting! The removal of all old shrubs and trees should start next week (I must remember to warn the neighbours). The build will be in January, but that's OK so long as the ground isn't frozen.

That looks lovely. I can just imagine it in 3D. Its going to be a really super sanctuary. Lots of opportunities for climbers and shady spaces under the trees. What is the orientation Sheila?

Really like the plan Sheila, so much interest with the winding path and position of the trees...it'll be lovely and so exciting seeing it develop and grow and become 'yours'..x

Thanks very much Janey. Yes, it is exciting, and I’ve been enjoying tweaking the design to include a small greenhouse and ‘japanesey’ area. A pleasant young man who I can chat with will start the build at the end of February. Lots to look forward to! x

Yes - interesting you should mention water. We had a conversation about making the path into a stream - wouldn't that be wonderful? But the next day we decided that we'd make life easier for ourselves if we had a large bird bath instead! The japanesy area will be quite shaded, so ideal for Acers but not water. So many decisions!

That would have been wonderful Sheila, but yes I bet, a lot of work and maintenance...bird bath...he he.
As you say so many decisions, but all very interesting and exciting...roll on Spring!
