OK thanks, is it poisonous? My cat like to nibble on things, I've already lost one. It's all tangled in my boxwoods & it roots in various places.

I haven't heard that it's poisonous. My cat nibbles on things also ... mainly things with long narrow leaves such as grasses, spider plant, umbrella grass, Bromeliads etc.
don't know if she does it to this though.
I try to train my Virginia creeper up a trellis, to keep it in control. The stems root easily if they lie on the ground. I also cut it back a lot because it can become rampant.

Yes, and it blends in so well with everything else. I didn't see this until it turned 'fire engine red.'

Its used here to cover freeway walls. Its a tough plant.

I looked on the 'plants poisonous to cats' list & Virginia Creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia) isn't listed.
I have one growing out of a tall chimney pot onto trellis & this seems to have restricted it as I've never had to trim it back in 15 yrs.

Thanks for checking Gf. I'm still wondering what killed my cat - the English Yew maybe? Do you know if cats are colorblind? Can they see the bright red leaves?

This is what I found, Paul.
'....cats have a central band known as the visual streak. Cats can see some colors, and can tell the difference between red, blue and yellow lights, as well as between red and green lights.'
Your cat might not have eaten any plant material at all, did you know that de--icer is one of the most lethal toxins to cats. For your info here is a link: https://www.woodgreen.org.uk/news/5049_the_dangers_of_anti-freeze_to_cats

I think it's called Virginia creeper ... I've got one and it gets very big. Can be quite a nuisance.
