Always a welcome sight early in the year before the huge variegated leaves appear later.

The variegated ones aren't as invasive. They work well for me on the brook banks in areas a bit scrubby, hide a multitude and great weed suppressers but weeds themselves I guess.

Never knew these were grown as garden plants.They don't grow round here so haven't seen one for years.

Almost aquatic plant Stera, they thrive here in all my wet clay.

Thats what I see in the verges beside drainage channels here...that colour.
