Thank you for your kind advice. I believe it is a red variety. I will nurture this bulb and hopefully make it re-flower next season. Will keep you updated.

Yes, once they get started you can almost see them growing! At least you can see the difference from day to day! I take photos of all my plants when the bud starts to peek out of the neck of the bulbs until they finish flowering! In fact when the flowers are open I take several photos of each flowerhead every day! So it's not strange that every year I end up with several 100 photos them flowering!!!

This is looking VERY good! Take care with the watering - don't give it hardly any water till the flowers start to go over. At this stage they have very little root & so can't take up much water.
As the leaves grow the plant will need more water & in about 3 months time you will need to fertilize it with an all purpose fertilizer according to the manufacture's instructions. About 3 months later you will need to fertilize it with a tomato or rose fertilizer. After a further 3 months you will need to stop watering altogether to get the plant to go dormant. It will need a further 3 months rest in a cool, frostproof place. Then you can begin to give it a little water & put it in a warm, light place to encourage it back into growth.
