Ere the winter storms begin!

Janey, I did exactly the same when I came home from shopping! Poor old pots, suffering again!
All I hope is that I shall be putting them back out again in glorious sunshine very soon indeed! Hope you will be too!

Well done Janey! You did well. My crocus are all in the ground, poor things. Molly has only nipped out for the toilet for days now....no, weeks!

Mores on the way Hywel..I'm so pleased I had more logs delivered!
Me too Wildrose, when I think, I was gardening last week and the crocuses were all open...it's the wind as much as the snow..:((
Ooh Dawn, we just need the wind to change and come from the SOUTH!!
Hi Karen, I hope you're not snowed in! Aww Mollie, Lottie is quite a tough little girl, we were in the blizzard earlier, then she comes home and wants to play ball in it???

Well, when it comes I think we will all be putting our flags out at this rate! :)

Good idea, ours are mostly in the ground, so will be flattened ....again!!

As you will have seen from my last blog my Crocuses were covered in snow as well! Fortunately the snow only lasted 1 day & the next they were virtually snow free again. The Crocuses in the pots of the railings are still going great guns! So are the ones in the troughs on the balcony floor.
Around 1pm today I was on the balcony for a few minutes & I was able to admire all the Crocuses in flower! I also discovered some Tulips now with buds as well as the Grape Hyacinths. I even found a Hyacinths, dark blue, that I hadn't noticed during the last week or so whose flowers are just beginning to open!
Things move so fast now that you can miss things in a couple of days! ?

Beautiful early morning here....if I had a flag Karen I would raise it!
I hope your crocus have survived Dd....my pots are back out in the garden...hoping for at least a couple of spring like days.. Think the cold will be returning later in the week...:((
Your right Balc, things have moved on under the protection of the snow and you have a smashing collection of pots...especially those frilly (ha ha) pansies!
I had my first coffee outside....there is some warmth in that sun and the buds are all enjoying the light..
Ko-jo-no-mai and Snow showers are all bursting into blossom....what a difference the brightness makes...:))

I had to look up "Ko-jo-no-mai" as I didn't know what it was! Now I know it's a Cherry tree! ??
I haven't seen any Cherry trees around here in flower as yet but no doubt they will start in the next week or so. However I have seen other trees in flower but I don't know what they are. ?

Yes it's a small potted Fuji cherry Balc...and in a few days will be full of blossoms.. The cherry Snow Showers is planted in the garden, a small tree with weeping branches.
A larger cherry in the garden is Prunus cerasifera, already in blossom. I pruned it hard late summer as it had grown far too large for its location so isn't quite so showy this year..

Nice to hear you have some Cherry trees in your garden. ?
I've seen several in flower around here in the last few days as well. ?

Terrible isn't it ... we come through the winter unscathed, and in the spring we have to take cover lol :D
I hope you don't get any more snow Janey.
