Love this bit of your garden. Just fancy sitting there surrounded by all the plants. We have had a really good soaking here in Surrey. No watering to do for a few days
:-)

So kind Karen, it is looking sad , one of the worst August we have ever had, garden is looking more like late September.......will start cutting down the plants as soon as the visitors have been and gone!

Yes, its looking a bit tired here too. I too am looking forward to the end of Open Days. I hope we will enjoy a lovely warm September with no pressure, and then a crisp sunny autumn. Theres always hope! I have 8 new sets of fairy lights to go on my shrubs and trees for the winter. One is installed, 7 to go. We will be lit up like its Christmas all winter, and all spring too! You can’t have too many fairy lights in a garden, especially solar powered! :)

Phew last of the visitors yesterday, still we made quite a bit of money.....and the weather was perfect.......
I have really enjoyed experimenting with our new lights,it has...... changed the garden

Do lights in the garden affect plants in any way? They are supposed to have their period darkness & some autumn winter flowering plants will not flower if lit up when it should be dark, the low light levels stimulate the production of flower buds. With Chrysanths 8.1/2 hours of darkness is crucial, if they get less they keep growing
vegetatively. You control when they flower by regulating the light which is how you get the American spray types
(Pot mums).

These are spot lights Feverfew and they are directed by me to shine on to the particular plants, which can be over 4ft away, it is a very powerful beam, and I move them around the garden, so it would have no effect whatsoever on their growth.......
