Yes they are ! the hedgerow I pass is about 1 mile long some sections are better than others they haven’t had much rain to fill them out . and the same area has had some really stunning buddlia bushes heavy with blooms but not one painted lady or red admiral butterfly have I seen on them and I have stood there looking for ages and I walk that way most days where have the gone !
and this as been the norm for a few years so sad .

Small blackberries in the hedgerow at the back of my garden too, but the cultivated ones I have in the garden are big, although not yet ready to pick.
I have only seen about 3 white butterflies this year. No others but I did see a Hawk moth. I've just uploaded a photo of it. Never seen one before …

Lots of berries but do you find they are small this year? Most of the ones I've seen round here are hardly worth picking.
They still look nice shining in the hedgerows though!
