One of the trees that's always suggested for all year beauty.... especially Autumn.... Looks good against the background hedge, Sheila.

Looks great Sheila. A few of the gardening programmes I've seen on TV recently were singing the praises of Amelanchiers.

Thanks Shirley - pretty white blossom in April too, but sadly only for two or three short weeks.

I had one and am missing it since our move ,I must get another one ...

Oh dear Amy - yes, you must. I’m missing our huge Acer ‘Bloodgood ‘ which was with two gorgeous pink Azaleas from my mother:(

It's shame and upsetting when you have to leave mature trees /shrubs etc. I had to leave a couple of Azaleas from my father as well , plus I grew a tree for the birth of each of our grandchildren they all had to be left behind ..

Same here Amy! We grew flowering Japanese cherries for each of our granddaughters . . . obviously they couldn't be moved, but I have planted two others in our front garden :) We'll just have to treasure our memories of our lovely Azaleas . . .

I agree Shirley nobody can take our memories away ...

Now there is a bit of old time philosophy. The memories do
live on for as long as you can remember. I can still remember the virtues of the Mock Orange. My mother used
to rave about hers. It's really tough to move stonewalls and well loved plants to a new place....Time to try something that you have always wanted. PS beautiful border.
