Do you have a nosey neighbour?

Do you have a nosey neighbour?

Here’s one of my neighbours, after the field behind us has been arable since I can remember, it’s so nice now having the Charolais cattle

And the young ones are so nosey...

I think this one and his mates are last year's calves. It's nice when the little ones are in the field with their Mums, they leave them to suckle as of course they're not bred for their milk.

awww... my nosey neighbours are the whitetails. They've discovered my big patch of kale which I planted for them. They've also been sampling the chard. It's hunting season soon. dreading it. A friend offered me a little male (neutered) goat but I just couldn't take him on with my surgery etcetera. He's for the abatoir, unfortunately. THE reason why I'll never be a farmer. sad but true, although I've had day dreams about a herd of Jerseys. Lovely little guy/gal you have there.

This is great news Dawn. As you know, we have Charolait x Aberdeen Angus as our neighbours, and we get a lot of joy from watching the new calves grow and the big Bull with his Harem! Sadly they will be going indoors for the winter this month, and we shant see them much unless we go up to see them in the sheds.

We always give them names too. This years calves have been Hiding Hector (because he was born during the storm and hid from the farmer for two days after), then there was Stunt Herbert, next came Harriet, and the last one is Buddy Holly. Originally named Hollie, but then we realised she was a boy, so name changed tosut gender! Lol..this is the entertainment you get in Rural Angus!

Great to watch aren't they Karen. Ours were herded the other day, probably to another field but yes they go indoors for winter.
I like your names for them :-)
