Early to flower this year, Wisley Cream is looking much healthier after I hand picked all the snails that had made their home amongst it's evergreen foliage..

Looking lovely recovering from snails people put vaseline on the stems to prevent the snails.

Ha ha Janey, this morning there is a heavy dew on the grass and a couple of slugs are slithering across, yuk!

That IS a really special clematis, one that I really like. We used to have one but sadly it disappeared without a trace!

Well that's an unusual idea Dawn, but a good one..
They're such pests aren't they Shirley, bin fodder! But garden life...that's when I begin to think they can't help being what they are, they didn't ask to be slippery slide critters, then I think, tough, and in the bin they go...:))
Thank you Wildrose, it's doing well this year, and has had a lot of water. It's sited near the garden tap, every time i fill the watering can, it overflows onto it....handy!

My thoughts exactly Janey! This morning I noticed some flowers on a C. Guernsey Cream, surprised to see them in October.

Well done on removing the snails Janey ... horrible things! I opened the brown bin today, only to find three of the tiniest snails gathered in the lid No idea what plant or weed they were munching on!
