Remains of Ivy

Remains of Ivy

You can see the remains of Ivy that had grown on this very old brick wall for so many years. It is really difficult to remove so I am training Passiflora, Constance Elliot through it, though it does prefer sending its new growth to the left and not the right!

What a gorgeous Cherry! I’m trying to remember...I think when I did this with an Ivy it did come off easily after a couple of years.

A beautiful brick wall as a backdrop to your garden. Good luck removing the ivy on it.

Yes the cherry is very vivid this year Karen. I don't mind the dead Ivy stems, the birds enjoy it, I can hang feeders there for them. And could try some clems to grow through too.
Thank you Wildrose, I love the old rosy brick and the Ivy was so,heavy at the top, it's my wall too, so,I have to look after it..
I think that's Ipad photos sometimes Amy, they can post sideways or upside down for some reason..

Hi Janey, right way up for me. Lovely garden photo, brick walls are always a nice backdrop to ivy, passiflora, or any pretty climber etc. Cherry tree looks pretty with its’ autumn colour.

Hi Kate, that's good. Yes, I love my walls here, very dry at the bottom of the wall and a real sun trap in the summer..
Thanks Kate, the cherry is Snow Showers, full of white blossom in March and then these pretty coloured leaves in Autumn...
