Well done. They look good and healthy. Penstemons usually take well and have good flowers next year.

Thanks everyone, I have some more on the floor this is my OH's speciality he's good at taking Penstemon cuttings we always have loads ,we do have purple ones Stera ,Brambleberry and Czar etc. ..

Are you starting a Penstemon nursery? They look good. Some of mine are still flowering, so pleased.

No Sue Lol .. we have always been very fond of Penstemons they flower all summer and are still blooming at this time of the year as you know with yours ...

Gosh you have been busy Amy and they are looking very healthy. I've never grown Penstemons, I don't think my gardens right for them, but they are very pretty, and you'll have lots of lovely flowers next year..:))

I was given one last year but sadly it died on me! When do you take the cuttings? I had a pack of very old seeds of Penstemon which I sowed this spring but none of the seed germinated. :( Not surprising really as they were a couple of years past there sow by date!

They are so rewarding to grow from cuttings aren't they! I have taken cuttings from my white Parahebe and also from the perennial wallflower. Another two that are dead easy from cuttings. :)

Thanks Janey,Chris ,Karen , David you can take cuttings Sept/Oct or we have had success in the spring ,you can also layer them I've never attempted to grow from seed I'm sorry you didn't have any germinate ...
